Updated ESPN Bracketology ahead of ACC/SEC Challenge

Here is where the UNC basketball program stands in the latest Bracketology after a trip to the Bahamas.

The inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge is underway as the two conferences will clash over a span of a few days. This challenge replaced the ACC/Big Ten Challenge that was run for years and gives us a look at some different opponents.

For North Carolina, the Tar Heels are 5-1 after a 2-1 showing at the Battle 4 Atlantis including a win over Arkansas. They welcome in a Tennessee team that just went 1-2 at the Maui Invitational with losses to Purdue and Kansas.

As we get set for the upcoming challenge, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has released his updated Bracketology. And for North Carolina, it’s great news as they have improved their seed.

UNC is now a No. 4 seed in the South Region and will face off against No 13 Akron in this latest version. That South Region also includes No. 1 Marquette, No. 2 Kansas, No. 3 Gonzaga.

Obviously, things will change between now and Selection Sunday but it is nice to see where an analyst believes the Tar Heels stand.
