Updated Chiefs depth chart projections following first wave of free agency

Observations:

  • The Chiefs brought back defensive tackle Mike Pennel on a one-year deal. He worked his way up the depth chart in 2019, operating as the second-string DT behind Chris Jones. I’d expect that he remains in that spot for the 2020 season.
  • Antonio Hamilton is another newcomer to the Chiefs. The cornerback depth is so thin that Hamilton’s existence gets him a second-string spot with the team. We’ll see what the future holds, but for now, it looks as if he’ll have a good chance to make the team.
