Updated CFB AP Poll after Week 8 has Alabama stagnant

Updated AP Poll sees Tide stay at No. 6

The updated AP Top 25 College Football Poll has been released following Week 8 of the 2022 season. The top six teams remain in the same spot, including the Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 6.

Alabama handled its business against No. 24 Mississippi State, 30-6, on Saturday, posting a shutout until the game’s last play. Despite the convincing win, the Tide had no room to climb in this week’s rankings.

The Tide will be on bye this week. After that, the team will have two massive games against Ole Miss and LSU it can use to jump back into a potential playoff spot. Alabama still controls its path to playing either Georgia or Tennessee in the SEC Championship.

The top five teams are still Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, Michigan and Clemson.
