Heading into Thursday’s contest between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors, Russell Westbrook was listed as questionable with right shoulder soreness.
Now, it is official: He will not suit up.
Via Lakers Daily:
“Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook has done a very nice job of avoiding the injury bug this season, but he’s expected to miss L.A.’s game on Thursday against the Golden State Warriors.”
Westbrook has been something of an ironman this season for the Lakers amidst a season that has been defined by several key injuries.
He has appeared in 78 contests this year, which is a team-high.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook— who has played 78 of 79 games this season — is expected to be out vs. Golden State tonight, sources tell ESPN.

L.A. has nothing left to play for, as it will not appear in the play-in tournament, so there is no upside or incentive to Westbrook playing while hurt or injured.
