As the world turns, so too does the Big Ten.
Optimism is abound that the conference will return to play with the latest report that, after Saturday’s medical presentation, the chancellors and presidents will vote ‘yes’ on a season starting on Oct. 17.
Just don’t expect it on Sunday night.
According to the Detroit Free Press’ David Jesse, while there is momentum towards restoring the season this fall, there’s nothing doing late Sunday. At this juncture, the vote is forthcoming, there’s nothing hard and fast about the date — and as of yet, no guarantees about the return of Big Ten football.

Just like when the conference postponed the season back on Aug. 11, it seems as if it will take a moment for the league to reverse course. The timeline then was similar, with rumblings on Saturday becoming louder by Monday. By Tuesday, the Big Ten finally announced its intentions.
Perhaps we’ll see history repeat itself this week, just the other way around.
