Restart, restart, restart. That’s what the Irish faithful would love to see to the beginning of the Marcus Freeman era in South Bend.
Freeman made history, but the wrong kind, as the loss yesterday made him the only coach in Notre Dame history to start his career with three straight losses.
Yesterday’s loss at home to Marshall stings the most. It wasn’t ranked. It was a heavy underdog. It came into Notre Dame Stadium and completely took the air out of the 2022 season, just two games into the season.
In what should not be a shock to anyone, Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt did not include the Irish in his Week 3 Top 10. In fact they probably weren’t even a thought when he was creating it.
My CFB Top 10 Week 3 (9/11)

2) @OhioStateFB
3) @AlabamaFTBL
4) @UMichFootball

This season isn’t completely lost, but the Irish have a lot of work to do to regain everyone’s respect. There will be brighter days, but, right now, it is doom and gloom in South Bend.
