‘Uno or Spades?’: NBA All-Stars had big bills on this locker room card game

What else is there to do before an exhibition game?

What does a locker room full of star NBA players do as they wait to play an exhibition game? Gamble, of course.

Or, at least, that was one of probably a few options.

Prior to the All-Star Game on Sunday, TNT cameras in the Team Durant locker room caught a little card action going on. Tonk, maybe?

Whatever it was, Joel Embiid was dealing for what looked like a game between himself, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker and Trae Young. And there didn’t appear to be a bill smaller than $100 on the table.

With Rudy Gobert, Andrew Wiggins and Zach Lavine looking on, Charles Barkley joked about how stressed the players looked. But the All-Stars certainly could afford to lose a few bucks.

Now if Michael Jordan — who was there for the 75th anniversary ceremony — popped his head (and very deep pockets) into the locker room, that’s when the real stress would’ve began. Knowing Jordan’s penchant for gambling, Twitter had jokes.
