Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will attend a ceremony at the University of Louisville on Saturday to have his No. 8 jersey retired by his collegiate team in the Louisville Cardinals. Jackson paved the way for the team to be successful over his years at the school, and now they have returned the favor with a “pavement” of their own.
On Friday, the Cardinals announced that a street has been named “Lamar Jackson Way” after the former Heisman winner.

The announcement comes one day before the team will officially retire his No. 8 jersey. Jackson becomes only the second quarterback in Louisville history to have his jersey retired. The other is Hall of Famer and former Baltimore Colts quarterback Johnny Unitas.
During his collegiate days with the Cardinals, Jackson was one of the most exciting players in sports.
In his three years with the Cardinals, Jackson notched 9,043 passing yards, 4132 rushing yards and a combined 119 touchdowns. His 4,132 rushing yards rank No. 1 all-time while his passing yards rank fourth. Jackson is also the youngest Heisman Trophy Winner ever.
It is no surprise why Louisville recognized Jackson as one of the best players in team history. Maybe the former NFL MVP will follow suit like Unitas and one day find himself enshrined in Canton, Ohio.
