UNCWBB slides up one spot in the new AP Poll

The North Carolina women’s basketball program slides up one spot to No.24 in this week’s AP Poll after going 1-0 last week.

The North Carolina women’s basketball team slid up one spot on this week’s Associated Press Poll to No. 24.

Much like the men’s basketball program, the UNC women’s team has had a gauntlet of games to start the season. After going 1-1 the week prior with a loss coming against No. 17 UCONN, it was nice the past week that UNC only had one game against a non-ranked Western Carolina, which they cruised into a 96-36 win.

The ACC presence continues to shine on the AP Poll, with six teams cracking the top 25. NC State continues to be the top-ranked ACC team (No.3) in the polls. If NC State can keep their record intact come February when they take on UNC, it could give the Tar Heels a significant leap in rankings come March madness.

UNC will take on Oklahoma Tuesday night as a part of the Jumpman Invitational, making way for a notable win if they can get the job done.
