UNC-South Carolina football game to be shown in select theaters

The UNC football program’s game against South Carolina will be shown in select theaters to open up the season.

When the North Carolina Tar Heels and South Carolina Gamecocks meet on Saturday night in primetime, fans will be able to watch the game in select theaters across the country.

Per Brad Crawford of 247Sports, the Tar Heels and Gamecocks matchup will be one of four games from this weekend that ESPN will broadcast in select theaters. They will join Virginia-Tennessee, LSU-FSU and Clemson-Duke.

ESPN made the announcement on Tuesday, as they reached a theatrical distribution agreement with Theater Sports Network to televise ACC games throughout the 2023 season. The theatrical distribution will be in away team markets, as well as both home and away for the neutral site games.

The UNC and South Carolina game is among the top games of the weekend, being played in primetime on ABC for Saturday night. It’s a huge game for both teams, as the Tar Heels come in ranked in the Top 25 and look for a statement win over a South Carolina team that has high expectations after last season.
