UNC women’s basketball moves down six spots in latest AP Poll

The North Carolina women’s basketball team dropped six spots in the latest AP Poll after back-to-back losses against Kansas State and FGCU.

The North Carolina women’s basketball program remained in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, coming in at No. 24 this week.

After back-to-back losses against Kansas State and FGCU, it was questionable if the Tar Heels would find themselves in the top 25. Despite sliding down six spots from No. 18 to No. 24, UNC is fortunate to be ranked in the top 25, largely due to how big of an upset it was for FGCU to beat them Sunday.

Luckily for the Tar Heels, that game will be forgotten with big matchups on the horizon, including No. 1 South Carolina, who comes to Carmichael Arena Thursday for an SEC/ACC matchup.

Along with playing in a stacked Atlantic Coast Conference, UNC has plenty of time to climb back up the rankings.
