UNC outfielder Casey Cook makes incredible home run robbing catch

North Carolina baseball player Casey Cook makes a spectacular catch against Virginia on Saturday.

The UNC baseball program had a big weekend series against a red-hot Virginia team in an early ACC showdown.

While the Tar Heels dropped game one on Friday, they were hoping to sweep the double-header on Saturday and win the series. UNC dropped game two to lose that series and it was up to them to avoid the sweep.

And in game three, they got an early boost from right fielder Casey Cook.

With a runner on second and two outs, Virginia sent a deep fly the right field where Cook tracked it down and then made a spectacular catch. He tipped the ball with his glove at the wall and then as he was going down caught the ball with his bare hand.

Check out the awesome play here:

That’s just a heck of a defensive play to save a run for the Tar Heels and it gave them a boost. UNC would go on to win the game 6-0 and salvage something out of this series.

It was a tough test all weekend for the Tar Heels and now the hope is that they can at least build off this win on Saturday night.
