UNC makes cut for four-star edge rusher

The UNC football program landed in the top five for this four-star edge rusher in the 2023 class.

Things are heating up for the UNC football program in terms of recruiting this Summer.

Not only have the Tar Heels landed multiple recruits over the past week to see their class climb into the top 25, they have also made the cut for a few prospects and their updated lists. We told you about the Tar Heels making the Top 5 for a four-star defensive back and now they are in the updated list for a four-star edge rusher.

Rico Walker made a key update to his recruitment at the start of July, cutting his list of 27 offers down to just five as he’s now focusing on Auburn, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina and Tennessee.

As you can see in the tweet above, Walker also announces that a commitment is coming soon. He didn’t set an official date but it’s likely he decides before the Summer is over.

Walker has completed official visits to Maryland and North Carolina in the last few weeks of June and could take some more visits before it’s all said and done.

The 6-foot-3, 233-pound edge rusher hails out of Hickory, North Carolina and is ranked No. 178 overall, No. 23 edge rusher, and the No. 4 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
