UNC has confirmed contact with a top transfer wing

The UNC basketball program has already had confirmed contact with a top transfer wing, according to a report.

Just a few days after entering the transfer portal a top forward has already spoken with the UNC basketball program.

According to InsideCarolina, Stanford forward [autotag]Harrison Ingram[/autotag] “has already had multiple conversations with the North Carolina staff since entering the transfer portal on Tuesday.”

Playing for former UNC assistant coach Jerod Haase at Stanford, Ingram averaged 10.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in 65 career games across two seasons.

At 6 feet, 7 inches and 230 pounds, Ingram is a hybrid forward who can be used on the perimeter or in the paint. 247Sports national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi broke down Ingram’s game.

“What Ingram does provide is a strong kid who can play small ball four or as a big wing. You can run offense through him because of his well above average passing instincts, he’ll rebound, has some post-up game and is high character guy with an off-the-charts work ethic.:

Ingram strongly considered UNC coming out of high school. He was ranked the No. 16 player in the 2021 class by 247Sports.

The Tar Heels are considered one of the teams to beat in this recruitment. Ingram was high on the board for the Tar Heels if he were to enter the portal.

North Carolina has already landed one transfer commit, Brown wing Paxson Wojcik.

The Tar Heels need to replace the production of Caleb Love, Leaky Black and Pete Nance. All were starters last season. That doesn’t include four reserves in their rotation who have entered the transfer portal.

Ingram looks like — for now — the next potential piece to the puzzle for Hubert Davis and North Carolina.
