Things have been a little quiet for the North Carolina Tar Heels’ football program during the holidays. But on Sunday, they received some great news regarding a potential piece on the offensive line.
North Carolina landed a commitment from Prairie View A&M offensive tackle William Boone. He signed with North Carolina, per his agent, Austin Pfenninger of JL Sports.
Boone is the latest player to join the Tar Heels out of the transfer portal under head coach Bill Belichick. The 6-foot-6, 340-pound Conyers (Ga.) native visited UNC last week and it didn’t take him long to a make a decision on picking his next program.
He also visited Colorado and San Diego State in his new recruitment.
Boone started at right tackle in 11 games for Prarie View A&M at the FCS level. He does have two years of eligibility left and should be in competition for a starting spot next season for the Tar Heels.
He is the fourth offensive lineman to transfer to North Carolina this offseason and is the 11th player overall to join the class. UNC is likely not done yet either as they have a lot of work to do moving forward.
