North Carolina’s annual spring football game has paid off on the recruiting front.
Just a day after Ryan Ward attended the Tar Heels’ spring football game, he’s made a decision. And that decision is to commit to North Carolina.
Per Inside Carolina, the three-star tight end committed to UNC over his other finalist Virginia on Sunday. Ward took trips to both programs, narrowing his list of 12 offers to two finalists. And it was enough for him to make up his mind and make the Tar Heels the winner in this recruitment.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Ward is a Rutherford, New Jersey, native who is ranked No. 802 nationally, No. 30 among tight ends and No. 16 among players in the state of New Jersey per 247Sports.
Ward is the 10th player to commit to the Tar Heels in the 2024 cycle, a class that is ranked in the top 15 for Mack Brown.
It also comes days after UNC lost on a three-star safety and four-star tight end in the 2024 class.
