It didn’t take long for the UNC football program to land a commitment from a three-star quarterback in the 2024 class.
Just a day after they offered three-star Michael Merdinger, the Florida native has pledged his verbal commitment to the Tar Heels. Merdinger made the announcement via Twitter on Sunday afternoon, giving UNC a quarterback for the class after missing out on a few in this cycle.
Merdinger was on UNC’s campus this past weekend and earned the offer from the program on Saturday. He picked UNC over 13 other offers including Minnesota, Georgia Tech, Florida Atlantic, and Appalachian State among others.
Thank you God
Thank you Tar Heel Nation

The commitment is No. 13 for the Tar Heels in the 2024 cycle, as the class is ranked No. 13 per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. It’s still very early in the recruiting cycle and the Tar Heels have other targets still available.
