The final live session of the summer has ended on the AAU circuit and for UNC basketball commit [autotag]Simeon Wilcher[/autotag], it ended with a terrific showing at Peach Jam.
Playing for City Rocks, Wilcher was named the Co-MVP of Pool Play last week after he led his team to an undefeated record. Despite losing in bracket play in the quarterfinals, he had a phenomenal week, one that turned heads after an up and down start to the summer.
Wilcher averaged 17.8 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the field. He also averaged 4.8 assists per game and 4.7 rebounds.
The guard had numerous standout performances, including a 30-point game on 10-of-12 from the field.
On Tuesday, he was named ‘Mr. Efficiency’ from Rivals national recruiting director Rob Cassidy.
“Wilcher averaged 19 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds during pool play and did so while shooting better than 50% from the floor. One game saw the point guard score 30 points on an almost unfathomable 83% shooting. Wilcher had a bit of an unstable start to the spring, but he has found his stride down the stretch and inserted himself back in the discussion for top point guard in the class during his run in Augusta. Wilcher is a true thee-level scorer that brings a rare brand of intensity to every possession.”
Wilcher is ranked No. 13 in the 247Sports Composite rankings and is a five-star combo guard.
As a junior, Wilcher averaged 16.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
