UNC basketball trending up while Duke trends down in Bracketology

The UNC basketball program is trending in the right direction while Duke is the opposite in the latest Bracketology.

The weekend slate of college basketball games are almost in the books with Sunday’s action ongoing. For the North Carolina Tar Heels, they kept their win streak rolling with a big win over Boston College on the road.

The 76-66 win moved UNC to 15-3 overall and 7-0 in conference play, as they sit atop the Atlantic Coast Conference standings going into another very important week. But they also are trending way up in Bracketology.

Last week, North Carolina moved up to a No. 1 seed in Joe Lunardi’s latest Bracketology, making their move while riding a win streak. After beating Boston College, they remain as a No. 1 seed, sitting as the fourth team on the line.

Meanwhile, their rival down the road Duke, is trending the wrong way.

The Blue Devils dropped a home game against Pitt on Saturday night and shortly after that, they fell to a No. 4 seed in Lunardi’s Bracketology update:

Duke is in the red, falling to the No. 14 overall team on that No. 4 line. The Blue Devils have struggled at times this season and Saturday was another example of that despite them being without Jeremy Roach and Mark Mitchell.

These two teams will meet a week from Saturday in the Dean Dome for a big showdown. The Tar Heels do have to take care of business before that, facing off against Wake Forest on Monday, Florida State and then Georgia Tech after that.
