The North Carolina Tar Heels are putting their unbeaten record in the Atlantic Coast Conference as they head to Florida State for a Saturday afternoon showdown.
With a 16-3 overall record and 8-0 conference mark, the Tar Heels are firing on all cylinders here in late January. And as they go into the weekend, they will do so as one of the top teams in the NET rankings.
Following a win over Wake Forest on Monday night, the Tar Heels moved up to No. 6 in the NET rankings. They are still No. 6 on Thursday and will likely be there when they tip off on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee.
The Tar Heels are behind only No. 1 Houston, No. 2 Purdue, No. 3 Arizona, No. 4 Tennessee and No. 5 BYU. Only Arizona plays between now and Saturday, so there shouldn’t a ton of movement.
UNC is currently 4-3 in Quad 1 games and Saturday’s game won’t qualify as Florida State is currently No. 83 on the NET rankings. But it’s still important to get a win and then hope Florida State closes out the season on a good note.
