UNC basketball set to host graduate transfer Cormac Ryan

Former Notre Dame basketball standout Cormac Ryan will visit the UNC basketball program on Tuesday.

North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis and his staff continue to be active in the transfer portal as they are pursuing a few different players to fill some needs.

As the Tar Heels await decisions from Nick Timberlake and Harrison Ingram, they are getting set to host another guard. Per Inside Carolina’s Sherrell McMillan, the Tar Heels are set to host graduate transfer Cormac Ryan this week.

The former Notre Dame guard will be on campus for the visit on Tuesday, as Inside Carolina noted in the article on Monday night. The Tar Heels made contact with Ryan soon after he entered the portal and now things are starting to progress.

Last season, Ryan averaged 12.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for the Fighting Irish. He shot 40.9 percent from the field including 34.4 percent from the three-point line.

North Carolina had its struggles shooting, especially from the wing spots and could use a boost in that area for the 2024-24 roster as they continue to build it here in April.
