Things are starting to take shape in terms of North Carolina’s 2025 recruiting class for basketball. After landing a commitment from Derek Dixon in September, Hubert Davis’ program is on the board and is looking to build off of that commitment.
Among the targets on UNC’s board is four-star forward Niko Bundalo.
The California product just completed a visit to North Carolina this past weekend, after taking visits to Ohio State, Michigan State, and UConn previously. And now, he’s making a big update to his recruitment.
On Wednesday, Bundalo cut his list down to four finalists as he will move forward in his recruitment with North Carolina, UConn, Ohio State, and Michigan. He cut Xavier, Texas, Kansas, Kentucky, and Pitt from his list.
In addition to naming his finalists, he also talked to On3 about each of his finalists including North Carolina:
“Me and coach Davis have built a relationship over these past few months to where I feel like I can talk to him and let him know anything. He’s been a really, really good recruiter for me. He’s really been the main guy recruiting me so when the dude running the team is the main one recruiting you, it’s hard not to trust him. Me and coach Davis have had some really, really meaningful conversations. He actually saw me at youth camp when I was younger, in the 8th grade. It’s an unbelievable program and he’s an unbelievable guy and an unbelievable coaching staff.”
With this update to his recruitment, a decision could be looming for Bundalo soon as North Carolina will know if they have landed another big prospect.
The 6-foot-10, 215-pound forward is ranked No. 31 nationally, the No. 8 power forward and No. 5 player in the state of California per the 247Sports rankings.
