Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have just two players committed in their 2025 recruiting class and their options are starting to wind down.
After watching AJ Dybantsa commit to BYU, UNC really only has Caleb Wilson left. The five-star power forward is among the best players in the 2025 class left uncommitted and would be a huge get for the Tar Heels.
And now they will soon find out their fate.
Wilson’s recruitment appears to be coming to an end in early 2025. After Joe Tipton of On3 tweeted that Wilson is set to make a commitment in January, the recruit qouote tweeted him asking “Where is home?.”

The Atlanta, Georgia native drew attention from a lot of programs including North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. As the recruitment has gone on both the Tar Heels and Wildcats have emerged as the favorites.
But it’s hard to tell who leads as of now.
Tipton himself believes it comes down to UNC or Kentucky but the favorite may have just a slight edge:
“In speaking with sources, this recruitment likely comes down to UK and UNC. Many people think Kentucky is the overwhelming favorite, but I recently had a source tell me they believe the race is actually much closer. The way my source explained it was Kentucky 51%, and North Carolina 49%,” Tipton wrote in a recent recruiting article.
We will soon know where Wilson ends up and it will have a big impact on UNC’s class whether good or bad.
