UNC basketball recruiting target cancels visit to blue blood program

A top UNC basketball recruiting target has cancelled a visit to a blue blood program.

Hubert Davis and North Carolina have one commitment in the 2025 recruiting class, earning one from Derek Dixon a few weeks back. But with plenty of targets left on their board, UNC has room to add more.

And there’s some potential good news regarding one target.

Four-star combo guard Isaiah Denis is on UNC’s big board as he gets set to make his decision on November 2nd. Denis has a total of 25 offers and has taken six visits but he’s now canceling a visit set for this weekend.

Per Travis Branham of 247Sports, Denis has canceled his visit to Kansas, essentially eliminating the Jayhawks from contention. That should be great news for the Tar Heels, as a blue blood program is now out of the mix.

With the visit to Kansas cancelled, North Carolina’s biggest opponents in the recruitment left are Tennessee, Wake Forest, and Ohio State.

The 6-foot-5, 175-pound Denis is a North Carolina native who plays at Davidson Day High School. He’s become a priority recruit in state for the Tar Heels. He’s ranked No. 47, the No. 8 combo guard and No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.

If the Tar Heels can land Denis for their 2025 class, it would give them their second recruit and a top-50 player for their roster.
