The North Carolina Tar Heels are still seeking their first commitment in the 2025 recruiting class and this week they will have the chance to land a big target of theirs.
Four-star combo guard Derek Dixon is set to make his decision on Friday afternoon, ending his recruitment and making his college selection. This recruitment has picked up steam in the past few weeks and many believe that it’s a race between UNC and ACC foe Pitt to land him. Days out from his recruitment, some experts are weighing in.
On Rivals, analyst Houston Wilson flipped his prediction from Pitt to North Carolina on Tuesday afternoon. It’s the only pick on Rivals.
On 247Sports, there is just one prediction as well. That’s also for UNC as it comes from Maryland insider Colby Giacubeno. That’s certainly great news for North Carolina in this recruitment as we continue to count down the days leading to his commitment date.
While predictions are no guarantee, it is a good sign as to where the experts are leaning. If a national analyst makes his prediction, that’s even better. Let’s keep an eye on that as well moving forward.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Dixon is ranked No. 51 nationally, the No. 9 combo guard and No. 2 player in D.C. per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
