UNC basketball program gets Tar Heels-inspired Air Jordan 2 early

The UNC basketball program got the Air Jordan 2 low early on thanks to Hubert Davis.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are still gearing up for the 2023-24 college basketball season and have hit the court a little bit in recent weeks. While the season is a long ways away, Hubert Davis and his staff are working hard to get this team on track.

And it’s not only on the basketball court.

Davis set out a goal for his team last semester to have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA in the classroom. Well, the Tar Heels hit that mark with a combined GPA of 3.5 over the last semester.

To reward his team, Davis surprised them with the Air Jordan 2 Low “UNC” shoe before they release. Watch as Davis gives a speech to his team and surprises them with the shoe:

This isn’t the first time UNC has received a pair of Air Jordans early on as they also got the “UNC Toe” Air Jordan 1’s early ahead of a late July release date.

Playing for North Carolina has its perks and that’s especially true in this case as the team got it done in the classroom as well.

The shoe will release on July 22 for $150.
