The North Carolina Tar Heels’ will tipoff the new college basketball season in just two months as they look to get back to the Final Four after losing in the Sweet 16 a year ago. This year’s roster will look different as the Tar Heels welcome in some new faces while saying good bye to others.
But the schedule will be tough regardless as they have some premier non-conference games on the slate.
Before UNC opens up the schedule against Elon on November 4th, they will have an exhibition game. The program announced they are adding an exhibition game against Johnson C. Smith on October 27th in the Dean Dome.

This gives Hubert Davis’ team a chance to play in a game against an opponent ahead of the opener. The addition of the exhibition is not unusual, as it gives them a chance to really see what they have on the roster against competition.
There is also another connection between UNC and Johnson C. Smith as Davis’ father played at Johnson C. Smith, and that’s where the coach’s parents met.
