We have 11 months until the 2024 NCAA Tournament, but that hasn’t stopped ESPN’s Joe Lunardi from releasing a bracketology for next season.
Since the 2023 season came to an end, Lunardi has released two versions of his bracketology, giving fans an early look where teams stand for the 2024 tournament based on offseason moves. North Carolina has moved up in the updated version on Tuesday.
Lunardi has the Tar Heels safely in the field as a No. 4 seed in the South Region facing No. 13 Marshall. That’s up from a No. 6 seed that he had them just a few weeks back.
The good news is he has UNC in the field, a year after it missed out on the tournament.
The bad news? This all really doesn’t matter at this point. There are a lot of things that can and WILL change between now and even the start of the summer with the transfer portal and recruiting.
The thing you can take away from this is that Lunardi and other experts believe the Tar Heels have improved from last season.
