The North Carolina Tar Heels have lost two of three after not suffering a loss going back to mid-December. After losing to Georgia Tech on the road, UNC bounced back to get a big win over rival Duke.
But the celebration didn’t last too long as UNC suffered a bit of a hangover, falling to Clemson at home on Tuesday. It was a bit of a shocking loss, a week after being upset to a bad Georgia Tech team.
The two losses have now dropped UNC out of a No. 1 seed on the latest Bracketology projections. But it’s also dropped them in the latest NET rankings as well.
The Tar Heels have fallen to No. 10 in the NET rankings that are updated daily. With a No. 10 ranking, UNC has a 5-4 record in Quad 1 games and a 4-1 record in Quad 2 games this season. They are a combined 9-0 in Quad 3 and 4 games.
The win to Duke did move up UNC but it wasn’t very high. And the losses to the Yellow Jackets and Tigers did hurt them.
The good news for the Tar Heels is that they have another Quad 1 opportunity this Saturday on the road against the Hurricanes. Miami is No. 68 in the rankings.
