UNC basketball left off early USA Today Sports rankings for 2023-24

The UNC basketball program was left out of the way too early rankings for the 2023-24 season by the USA Today Sports.

With the college basketball season officially over, the long countdown to next season is officially underway. And with that are several way too early top 25 polls for the 2023-24 season.

Almost every outlet is doing them, and it’s become a little bit of a tradition. While there is a long way to go until next season, these are where teams stand according to some analysts.

Now, a lot will change between now and the season’s tip in November, including more NBA decisions, recruitments and the transfer portal. So these rankings could look far different a month from now.

North Carolina cracked the top 25 in Jeff Goodman’s rankings but didn’t have that same luck in the USA Today Sports’ rankings. On Tuesday, USA Today Sports dropped its rankings, leaving UNC out of the Top 25.

Three Atlantic Coast Conference teams were ranked in the top 25 with No. 2 Duke leading the way, followed by No. 8 Miami and No. 20 Virginia.
