UNC basketball lands guard Paxson Wojcik out of transfer portal

The UNC Basketball program has landed a commitment from guard Paxson Wojcik out of the transfer portal.

So far, the North Carolina Tar Heels’ involvement in the transfer portal has consisted of players leaving the program. Caleb Love was the latest on Monday afternoon.

But hours after Love’s announcement, the team has landed a commitment out of the portal.

Per Stockrisers, former Brown guard Paxson Wojcik has committed to North Carolina. He’s the first commitment for the Tar Heels in the 2023 portal cycle and comes at a spot of need, guard.

The guard pledged his commitment to the program after taking an official visit to Chapel Hill this past weekend. The visit did enough to win him over in his new recruitment.

Wojcik averaged 14.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game last season for Brown and shot 46% from the field and 38% from the 3-point line.

The 6-foot-5 guard is the son of Doug Wojcik, who coached at UNC from 2000-2003. Wojcik has one year of eligibility left.
