UNC basketball guard R.J. Davis sounds the sirens at Hurricanes game

UNC basketball guard R.J. Davis sounded the siren at the Carolina Hurricanes playoff game.

The Carolina Hurricanes are off to a good start in their first round playoff series against the New York Islanders, winning game 1 on Monday and then game 2 on Wednesday at home. With a 2-0 series lead, the Hurricanes have to feel good as the series shifts to New York for a few games.

Before Wednesday’s overtime win, a UNC basketball guard helped get the arena loud.

Tar Heels’ point guard R.J. Davis joined former Hurricanes player Bates Battaglia as the honorary siren sounders before the game. Davis is the latest UNC player to participate in the pregame tradition, joining Brady Manek and Armando Bacot who did it most recently.

With the game being played in Raleigh, it was expected that Davis may receive some boos due to it being in PNC Arena, home of NC State. While it wasn’t as bad as we thought, there were still some boos when Davis stepped up:

Either way, the Hurricanes got it done and that’s all that matters as they have a 2-0 lead.
