The future of the North Carolina Tar Heels’ basketball program rests on the shoulders of the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes. While UNC will have to wait a little longer for the 2024 class, which ranks No. 1 in the country, to get on campus, the two-man 2023 class is arriving shortly.
On Saturday, UNC fans can get a look at two prospects who will be Tar Heels.
Class of 2023 forward Zayden High will face 2024 guard Elliot Cadeau in the GEICO Nationals championship game. High’s AZ Compass team upset IMG Academy on Friday, punching its ticket to the finals.
No. 7 @AZCompass_Prep will have @zayy23den back in the lineup Thursday (4 ET, ESPNU) when they take on No. 2 LuHi at #GEICONationals!
The @UNC_Basketball commit is "back to 100 percent," per Dragons coach @Ed_Gibson24.

Shortly after, Cadeau and Link Academy took down Sunrise Christian to earn a spot in the title game. Cadeau is coming off a big showing, setting a tournament record with 14 assists in Thursday’s win. He followed with another big game on Friday.
UNC commit 2024 PG Elliott Cadeau (@ElliotCadeau) has been the leader of this Link Academy (MO) team this season — has looked incredible in Fort Myers this week.
Impressing NBA scouts with his high motor, ability to facilitate making nice reads, and toughness @LinkHoops.

The tip is set for noon ET and will be shown live on ESPN.
High will be the one of the two recruits to play at UNC as part of the 2023 class unless Cadeau reclassifies. But either way, with how both have been playing during this tournament, UNC fans have to feel really good about future classes coming in.
