UNC basketball commit records triple double at EYBL event

UNC basketball five-star commit Elliot Cadeau recorded a triple double at an EYBL event in Texas.

The hot streak for North Carolina commit Elliot Cadeau continued on Friday night.

In the third Nike EYBL session of the AAU season, Cadeau had another big performance. He finished with  21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the New Heights Lightning in a loss to Team Final.

Cadeau has been fantastic on the AAU circuit as the EYBL events shifted to Texas for the weekend. Coaches are not allowed to attend these games this weekend. He has earned praise from national analysts for his play and that was the case once again after Friday’s session.

Here is what 247Sports national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi wrote on Cadeau’s performance:

Let’s start with Cadeau because even in the loss, he was masterful while posting a triple double of 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He’s not the tallest at about 6-foot-1, but his explosion, ability to see the floor and how he puts pressure on defenders were all on display. He plays with strength, but his explosion in tight spaces and overall feel for the game are off the charts. On Friday night, he backed up his billing.

Cadeau continues to improve his stock as a five-star prospect in the 2024 class. He is becoming one of the best players in the country. However, he could arrive on UNC’s campus early and join the 2023 class since the Tar Heels have open scholarships.

That’s the biggest storyline to monitor for UNC, and it appears Cadeau is ready to take that next step.
