North Carolina’s 2024 recruiting class is ranked among the top 15 for the cycle with three recruits committed. While Hubert Davis and UNC are still navigating the 2023-24 season, the future of the program is in the hands of future recruiting classes.
And a 2024 commit is doing his best to help the Tar Heels build a really good 2025 class.
Four-star center James Brown committed to North Carolina last year and is teammates with five-star guard Jasper Johnson at Link Academy. Johnson is a target of North Carolina and was recently on campus for the win over Duke.
Following the visit, Brown took to social media to help the recruiting efforts saying “Like this tweet if you think @BruhJasperJ would look good in a North Carolina shirt too!!”

Johnson is one of the top recruits in the 2025 recruiting class, ranking No. 10 nationally on the 247Sports rankings.
He has over 20 offers and has started taking visits including to UNC and Kentucky most recently. Johnson’s recruitment has been relatively silent in terms of a potential decision but it does feel like UNC has a legit shot here.
And it never hurts to have one of his teammates in his ear.
