Among the targets on Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels’ 2025 recruiting big board is five-star forward Nate Ament.
The Tar Heels joined the recruitment a little late for the forward, offering him in May after watching him for months. Davis and his staff eventually liked what they saw in him to extend the offer and now the pursuit is on.
And it sounds like they are recruiting him pretty hard.
Per HS Top Recruiting, the Tar Heels are among the programs that are ‘recruiting him the hardest’ recently. Joining the Tar Heels in that conversation are UConn, Duke, Kentucky, and Kansas State.

The 6-foot-9, 185-pound Ament has a total of 20 offers in his recruitment with blue bloods after him. The Warrenton, Virginia native is starting to see his recruitment pick up with interest from programs increasing as noted above.
Where the Tar Heels stand in this recruitment is unknown at the moment but if this report is true, it appears as if Davis and his staff are starting to put the heat on in this recruitment.
Ament is ranked No. 7 nationally, the No. 4 power forward and No. 1 player in the state of Virginia per the 247Sports recruiting rankings for the 2025 class.
