UMass fans finally had reason to celebrate and they stormed the field

The Minutemen must have been feeling it in the fourth quarter. How else can you explain their coach calling an onside kick after going up 27-13 with less than five minutes left?

You read that correctly. UMass successfully pulled off the onside kick while up two touchdowns. It wasn’t the trailing Huskies, who needed the ball.

Ellis Merriweather was the hero with 39 carries for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Merriweather, by the way, was the only healthy scholarship running back for UMass.
