[autotag]Brian Kelleher[/autotag] vs. [autotag]Ricky Simon[/autotag] has been rebooked.
A bantamweight matchup between Kelleher and Simon is expected for the UFC’s Jan. 16 event, which doesn’t have a location. Although an announcement has yet to be made, Simon confirmed the booking on his Facebook page Sunday night. MMA Fighting was the first to report the news.
The pair initially was scheduled to face off Sept. 5 in Las Vegas, but Simon was forced to pull out after he tested positive for COVID-19. Kelleher (22-11 MMA, 6-4 UFC) drew newcomer Ray Rodriguez instead, whom he submitted in just 39 seconds to earn a “Performance of the Night” bonus.
In his most recent outing on May 13, Simon (16-3 MMA, 4-2) rebounded from back-to-back losses. After a back-and-forth affair against Ray Borg, Simon was awarded the split decision.
