[autotag]Edmen Shahbazyan[/autotag] has made quick work of all but one opponent.
Shahbazyan (11-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) faced [autotag]Antonio Jones[/autotag] at Dana White’s Contender Series 13 in 2018, and it didn’t take long for him to make an impression.
Shahbazyan walked Jones down, swinging in the pocket while eating a few shots himself. He worked his way into the clinch, unleashing a barrage of knees, which backed up Jones. He followed it up with a couple of uppercuts and a short left hand that dropped Jones, and Shahbazyan was all over him.
Just 40 seconds into the fight, Shahbazyan was awarded the TKO victory and the UFC contract. He continued to impress in his UFC debut later in the year, by digging deep to edge Darren Stewart in his first decision win. He followed that up with three straight first-round finishes over Charles Byrd, Jack Marshman, and Brad Tavares.
Shahbazyan returns Saturday when he meets [autotag]Derek Brunson[/autotag] (20-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) in the UFC on ESPN+ 31 headliner. The event takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Before he faces Brunson, relive Shahbazyan’s finish over Jones in the video above.
