Just a few months after a hospital stay for smoke inhalation after he saved his parents from a house fire, [autotag]Mark Coleman[/autotag] has another medical issue on his plate.
Coleman posted a video on social media from a hospital bed Thursday to say he’s been admitted for a septic infection in his hip, also known septic arthritis or septic hip. According to the Mayo Clinic, the painful infection often comes from elsewhere in the body, sometimes from an open wound like a staph infection. Without quick draining of the hip joint with surgery, the condition quickly can worsen and become life threatening.
“Back in the hospital again,” Coleman said in an Instagram video. “My hip is septically infected. They were going to do emergency surgery today, but I’m blood thinners so they’re going to have to wait until Monday. So I’m going to hang out here for the weekend. Everything’s going to be fine.”

In March, Coleman saved his parents from their burning home in Ohio. He was hospitalized for smoke inhalation and found himself “battling for his life” as he was intubated and sedated while doctors removed soot from his lungs.
Coleman attended UFC 300 in April with his daughters as a special guest of the UFC, and he put the “BMF” title around Max Holloway’s win after his last-second, fifth-round dramatic KO of Justin Gaethje.
