A heavyweight battle is the latest addition to the UFC event Feb. 19 in Las Vegas.
France’s [autotag]Alan Baudot[/autotag] and New England’s [autotag]Parker Porter[/autotag] are set to square off at UFC Fight Night 201, which takes place at the UFC Apex.
Two people with knowledge of the booking recently informed MMA Junkie of the matchup but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Baudot (8-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is a training partner of former UFC interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane, under head coach Fernand Lopez, of Factory X. He debuted in October 2020 when he was finished by Tom Aspinall. He returned to face Rodrigo Nascimento in July 2021 and suffered another TKO loss. However, Nascimento later tested positive for banned substance ritalinic acid, so the result was subsequently overturned to a “no contest” by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC).
As for Porter (12-6 MMA, 2-1 UFC), the Connecticut-born behemoth has won back-to-back fights. Following a promotional debut loss to Chris Daukaus in August 2020, Porter rebounded with consecutive unanimous decision wins over Josh Parisian and Chase Sherman.
