It seems a trilogy fight between [autotag]Angela Hill[/autotag] and [autotag]Ashley Yoder[/autotag] won’t be necessaruy.
Hill, the former Invicta FC strawweight champion, defeated Yoder once again Saturday at UFC Fight Night 187. Hill won a unanimous decision, earning 30-27 marks on all three judges’ scorecards.
The women’s strawweight bout closed out the UFC Fight Night 187 preliminary card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. It streamed on ESPN+.
The bout between Hill and Yoder was a rematch from July 2017, when Hill outpointed Yoder in a unanimous decision. The second bout was a dominant affair by Hill (13-9 MMA, 8-9 UFC), but Yoder (8-7 MMA, 3-6 UFC) did have her moments on the ground.
In the first round, Hill walked down Yoder and connected flush with many good shots. The two clinched plenty throughout the round, but nothing significant came out of that exchange.

The second was by far the most dominant, as it looked like Hill was close to finishing the fight on several occasions, Hill attacked the body and head and had Yoder constantly backing up and defending. Just when it looked like Yoder was on her last leg, hurt from the body shots, she managed to secure a takedown with seconds remaining in the round.
The third was also a great round on the feet for Hill, but Yoder was able to clinch more and take the fight to the ground and maintain on top for a little over a minute. Regardless, it wasn’t enough to win the round.
With the victory over Yoder, Hill saw a controversial two-fight losing streak come to an end. She had suffered a pair of split decision losses to Michelle Waterson and Claudia Gadelha. Prior to the two loses, Hill was on a three-fight winning streak.
Meanwhile, Yoder now falls to 1-3 in her last four trips to the octagon. She was coming off a unanimous decision win over Miranda Granger in November.
