[autotag]Chris Daukaus[/autotag] thwarted [autotag]Aleksei Oleinik[/autotag]’s grappling attempts at UFC Fight Night 185, and it set up a quick win for him.
Daukaus (11-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) earned a third consecutive first-round finish to start his UFC tenure Saturday when he landed heavy shots on Oleinik (59-15-1 MMA, 8-6 UFC) to force a standing TKO stoppage.
The Philadelphia-based police officer had talked prior to the event about putting together a run that would warrant a full-time move to fighting, and he took another step forward with the big win in the heavyweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

After the fight, Daukaus said he was proud of his performance and is looking to take another step forward next.
“Aleksei is a legend, and he showed why he’s a legend,” Daukaus said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “I want to fight whoever is in front of me. Everyone is going to get it, so it doesn’t matter to me.”
