As part of the UFC’s four “Fight Island” events in 15 days, the promotion will hold a rare Wednesday card on July 15.
In the main event, contenders [autotag]Calvin Kattar[/autotag] and [autotag]Dan Ige[/autotag] will square off in a pivotal featherweight bout. Both men are riding high off recent wins over UFC mainstays.
On Wednesday, the promotion released a poster for the event featuring [autotag]Calvin Kattar[/autotag] and [autotag]Dan Ige[/autotag] – as well as the co-main event participants, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and bantamweight contender Pedro Munhoz. Sticking with the theme, an island image is used as the backdrop.
At UFC 249 in May, Kattar (21-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC) finished Jeremy Stephens with a vicious elbow and punches. The victory landed him back in the win column after a loss to Zabit Magomedsharipov last November.
Ige (14-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) has emerged as a potential dark horse at 145 pounds. After losing his promotional debut at UFC 220 in January 2018, Ige has rattled off six straight wins, including victories against Edson Barboza and Mirsad Bektic.
