Welterweights [autotag]Tim Means[/autotag] and [autotag]Alex Morono[/autotag] will throw down in May.
Means (32-14-1 MMA, 14-11 UFC) takes on Morono (22-8 MMA, 11-5 UFC) at a UFC event on May 13 that does not yet have a confirmed venue or location.
Two peoplel with knowledge of the booking told MMA Junkie of the matchup Tuesday. The people asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Means is coming off back-to-back losses to Kevin Holland and Max Griffin. Prior to that, “Dirty Bird” picked up three straight wins over Laureano Staropoli, Mike Perry and Nicolas Dalby.
Morono saw his four-fight winning streak snapped by Santiago Ponzinibbio this past December at UFC 282. His run included wins over Donald Cerrone and Matthew Semelsberger.
With the addition, the lineup for UFC’s May 13 event now includes:
- Anthony Smith vs. Johnny walker
- Jailton Almeida vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
- Mackenzie Dern vs. Angela Hill
- Ian Machado Garry vs. Daniel Rodriguez
- Tim Means vs. Alex Morono
