LAS VEGAS – The sixth champion-vs.-champion fight in UFC history is official after [autotag]Jan Blachowicz[/autotag] and [autotag]Israel Adesanya[/autotag] made weight for UFC 259.
At Friday’s official UFC 259 weigh-ins, light heavyweight champ Blachowicz (27-8 MMA, 10-5 UFC) and middleweight kingpin Adesanya (20-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) had no issues on the scale as they successfully hit their marks for their headlining matchup.
As promised, Adesanya came in well under the championship limit in his move up, tipping the scale a 200.5 pounds – with a box of pizza in his hands. For his part, Blachowicz used every ounce of the weight class, coming in exactly at the 205-pound championship limit,
UFC 259 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view (10 p.m. ET) following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.

In addition, Glover Teixeira is expected to weigh in as a main event backup should something happen to Blachowicz or Adesanya ahead of fight night. The streaking contender has won his past five fights.
