Joanna Jedrzejczyk exited the ring with a terrifying amount of swelling on her forehead on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The injuries were so severe that she was practically unrecognizable.
Jedrzejczyk (16-4) lost a in a split decision to strawweight champion Zhang Weili (21-1). It was quickly dubbed one of the greatest matches in UFC history. But it clearly came with a tremendous cost for both fighters, most apparently to Jedrzejczyk, with before-and-after photos showing the upsetting toll the fight took on her face.
She was checked into a hospital, but left on Sunday morning without any significant injuries, according to ESPN. She seemed to be in decent spirits, too, with her Instagram story showing her eating doughnuts on Sunday morning.
