Askar Askarov earned a unanimous decision victory over Tim Elliott Saturday night at UFC 246, after the Russian fighter was denied a spectacular first-round knockout by Elliott’s unbelievable recovery from a brutal shot to the jaw.
Askarov rocked Elliott early in the round with a right hand that caused Elliott to slump on his feet as if unconscious – but Elliott recovered in a split-second and continued to defend himself.

Elliott spent much of the third round fighting with his hands down, daring Askarov to light him up – and survived a ton of punishment from Askarov. Ultimately Elliott wasn’t able to save himself with a finish, and Askarov picked up the win.
Elliott was legit out on his feet. Omg 😳 😱 #UFC246
