UEFA has announced that Slavko Vinčić will referee the 2023-24 Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid.
It will be the first Champions League final for the Slovenian, who previously officiated the 2021-22 Europa League final between Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers.
Vinčić has been an international referee since 2010, and has plenty of experience at the top levels of the club and international game.
The 44-year-old refereed at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup, and is on the list of officials for the upcoming Euro 2024.
Vinčić has already taken charge of seven games in this season’s Champions League, including the quarterfinal second leg between Dortmund and Atlético Madrid, and the last-16 second leg between Bayern Munich and Lazio.
Vinčić will be joined by fellow Slovenians Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič as assistant referees, and Nejc Kajtazović as the VAR.
Dortmund and Real Madrid will face off at Wembley Stadium in London on June 1.
