The Murphy twins were expected to land on NFL rosters on Day Three of the 2024 NFL Draft. Surprisingly, neither of them did.
That said, there was a market for both of them following the conclusion of the draft. For Grayson Murphy, he signed with the Miami Dolphins after receiving several offers.
Murphy, whose size could be an issue at the next level at only 6′ 3″ and 260 pounds, totaled 23 tackles, five sacks, and forced a pair of fumbles. His output at UCLA is undeniably impressive, but his size will become a factor as the Dolphins figure out what to do with him on their roster.
The Dolphins have a need at the edge defender position. Drafting Penn State’s Chop Robinson in the first round and later Colorado State’s Mohamed Kamara, adding Murphy is insurance for Miami.

Will the Dolphins’ need alone be enough to secure him a spot on the roster? It is unlikely, but if Murphy can show out at the rookie mini-camp, he can prolong his stay with the team and try to secure a spot later.
